Roseview Stud

A small stud of Welsh Section B & Palomimo Ponies, using the best old bloodlines.
Our ponies are bred for temperament, movement and good limbs.

Welsh Progeny

The first Welsh mare purchased for the stud was RHOSON CARIAD (Downland Rembrandt x Downland Baled).  She was a 3yo filly and was bought at Fayre Oaks in 1992.  In 1993 she went to Llanarth Stud, to be covered by Mollegaards Spartacus.  The resulting offspring was a liver chestnut filly, Roseview Little Love.  She returned to Llanarth Stud in 1995, this time to Twyford Signal, producing a strawberry roan filly, Roseview Mystique.

Cariad was then sold and I saw her again in 2006, competing in Pony Club games

The next Welsh mare bought in to the stud was purchased unseen in 1995 from an advert in Horse & Hound magazine. This was HORSEGATE PIPIT (Pendock Peregrine x Twyford Arcadia)  who was then covered by Barkway Bolaero, producing Roseview Showgirl.  Unfortunately for the stud Pipit proved not to be a very easy breeder and we only managed to get one more foal from her in 1999, a colt, Roseview Masterpiece.  He was by our young colt, Eastleigh Amadeus.

Pipit proved to be a major winner in the show ring for the stud, including a multiple winner of the Royal Cornwall Show and a winner at the Three Counties Show.

She is still at the stud and plays a useful role in 'nannying' the youngstock.

As I have lost touch with both of her offspring it has been hard to find any photos to show you.

KNIGHTON LUCY LOCKET (Llangeitho Viscount x Elmead Lockets) was the next mare introduced to the stud and she proved to be a consistent mare, both with her stock (breeding us only fillies) and in the show ring.  Before being purchased by the stud her first foal was a colt by Mollegaards Spartacus, called Eastleigh Amadeus and he became our first stallion.  It was because we liked him so much that we went on to purchase his dam.  As a result Lucy Locket has had an influence on the stud through her son, as well as in her own right.

She came to us in foal to Cadlan Valley Replica, producing a grey filly in 1997, Roseview Dolly Daydream.  Lucy was then covered by Cottrell Artiste, producing Roseview Lulu in 2001.  She was covered by our own Paddock Golden Dancer, giving birth to Roseview Flashdance in 2003.

Sadly Lucy died in 2005 whilst in foal to Eyarth Rio

Other mares bred from include Pendock Victoria (bought at FO in 1998), Pendock Proverb (leased from Pendock Stud) and Millcroft Siesta, who can be seen on the current stock page.  Some mares were acquired for the stud but were never covered, due to other commitments and they can be seen on the photo gallery page.

ROSEVIEW RAINDANCE, 2007 colt foal by Soudley Taliesin out of Millcroft Siesta

This dark bay foal has the most beautiful head and has been sold to a lovely home as a potential stallion.

Although only lightly shown he has been a winner in the show ring.

by Eastleigh Amadeus (see above)

Bunny was his only filly and was given her name as she was born on Easter Monday.

Victoria was also successfully shown under saddle before being bred from.

THISTLEDOWN PRETTY POSH

(Eyarth Troy x Paddock Plush)

Posh was the first of our Palomino ponies and was purchased in foal to Paddock Sahara.

She gave birth to Roseview Panache in March 2008 and he has been sold to France as a future stallion. The photo shown here was of him at the Welsh National Show in Belgium where he was 2nd.

PENDOCK PROVERB (Duntarvie Nominator x Pendock Poise) and her 2003 colt foal, ROSEVIEW LEGEND, by Millcroft Royal Lustre.  Proverb won an NPS Silver Medal whilst with us and also qualified for the NPS Picton Novice Ridden Championships. Legend won the foal class at Royal Cornwall.

And just for something totally different, if you are bored with looking at ponies, here are some photos of the Roseview terriers.
