Our ponies are bred for temperament, movement and good limbs.

Riding Pony Progeny

The first pony broodmare was a 12hh grey mare, BARKWAY POLLY POPPET, by Hever Olympic out of Polly Garter. She was purchased in 1993 as a 3 year old, in foal to Orielton Aristocrat. Her foal was named Roseview Playboy. He was a sweet natured pony and was shown successfully as a foal. Polly Poppet was broken to ride when her foal was weaned and has gone on to be a successful LR pony.

Roseview Playboy (Charlie) was broken to ride and went on to make a lovely 12.2hh Show Pony.

ROSEVIEW PLAYBOY (b. 1994)

The next riding pony purchased was ERIMUS MORNING JEWEL (Molly) by Ambershire Small Talk out of Erimus Spring Morning, making her a full sister to the HOYS pony, Erimus Showgirl. She was acquired as a yearling in 1995 and shown successfully in youngstock classes. Unfortunately a nasty accident to her leg, whilst away from home being produced, as a three year old put paid to our initial plans for her. She was put in foal to Coveham Animation, producing Roseview Jasmine in 1999. She was then put under saddle for a while and went on to win many championships. She was then sent to Diptford Star Attraction in 2001 and had another filly, Roseview Juliet. When Juliet was weaned Molly was put back under saddle again and was eventually sold in 2006. Since then she has gone on to be very successful both in the show ring and the dressage arena, qualifying for various national championships.

Molly has the most adorable temperament which she passed on to her offspring and was a wonderful pony to have owned for so many years.

TWYLANDS OLIVIA 1985 - 2006

The next, and by far the most influential, pony mare purchased for the stud was the beautiful 14.2hh TWYLANDS OLIVIA. She was bought unseen from an advert in Horse & Hound in 1998 (aged 13), in foal to a pure bred Arabian, Ortanique. When she arrived her obvious quality was breathtaking. She had spent her life going from home to home, initially being bought by the Rendene Stud as a foal. She also had a couple of foals at the Wingland Stud, before breeding foals at a Quarter Horse stud. She duly gave birth to a filly foal, Roseview Elite and the decision was made to show her. At her first show she won the championship, including an NPS Silver Medal and qualified for the NPS Championship show. She then contested Stithians Agricultural Show, where she again took the championship. She entered the supreme championship, competing against ponies that had qualified for HOYS that day and she really floated over the ground, taking everybody's breath away with her fantastic movement. We were delighted when she was awarded the Supreme Championship of the show. She was shown under saddle for the first time at 14, winning the area BSPS points for the season and qualifying for BSPS & NPS Championship shows. She bred two more foals for the stud, Roseview Limited Edition and Roseview Exclusive, both by the Cusop Fingerprint son, Diptford Star Attraction. She was shown at the area NPS show with each of them at foot and won the championship and NPS Silver Medal on each occasion. She was sent back to Star Attraction in 2006 but unfortunately went down with very bad colic whilst at stud and never came home again. Her eldest son, Roseview Limited Edition, had qualified for HOYS only the week before. This was such a tragic and traumatic way to lose such a fantastic mare, who was always a pleasure to own.
